Terms of Service

These Terms govern your access to and use of Zentor ("the Service"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

1. Eligibility

Zentor is for students, lecturers, administrators, and authorised parents/guardians of partner institutions. You must provide accurate registration details and have the right to use the institutional email or matriculation number you sign up with.

2. Your account

Students and lecturers sign in with their school email and a password they set; parents create an account with their own email and a password they set, linked to a ward by the ward's matriculation number and parent access code.

Keep your password and access codes confidential; you are responsible for activity under your account.
One account per person. Accounts are tied to a device for fraud prevention.
If you forget your password, a one-time code sent to your account email lets you reset it; registering requires no code beyond your parent access code.
Notify us promptly of any unauthorised use at support@zentor.ink.

3. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

Mark attendance for anyone other than yourself, or let anyone scan on your behalf ("proxy attendance").
Share login credentials, QR codes, or access codes to defeat attendance checks.
Falsify your location, identity, photo, or device to bypass verification.
Probe, scrape, overload, reverse-engineer, or interfere with the Service or its security.
Use the Service for any unlawful purpose or in breach of your institution's regulations.

4. Attendance integrity

Zentor uses device binding, device passkeys (your phone or computer's fingerprint/Face ID), geolocation, facial verification, and fraud detection to keep attendance honest. Detected attempts at proxy attendance or tampering are logged and reported to your lecturer and institution. Academic consequences for such conduct are determined by your institution, not by Zentor.

Online classes. Virtual classes are held on external platforms (e.g. Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, Telegram), each subject to its own terms and privacy policy; Zentor only schedules the class and shares the join link. Where a lecturer enables attendance, you may enter the attendance code only while genuinely present in the class — entering a code you obtained without attending, or sharing it with someone who is not, is proxy attendance and is treated as above.

5. Availability

The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee uninterrupted or error-free operation, and attendance may also be recorded or corrected manually by authorised staff where needed.

6. Intellectual property

Zentor and its content, branding, and software are owned by us or our licensors. We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to use the Service for its intended purpose. You may not copy, resell, or create derivative works without permission.

7. Disclaimers & liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties not expressly stated here, and we are not liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages, or for academic decisions made by your institution based on attendance data. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us (if any) in the 12 months before the claim.

8. Suspension & termination

We may suspend or terminate access that violates these Terms or poses a security risk. Your institution may also revoke access in line with its own policies.

9. Privacy

Your use of the Service is also governed by our Privacy Policy, which explains how we handle your data.

10. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, without regard to conflict-of-laws rules.

11. Changes

We may update these Terms. Material changes will be communicated in-app or by email. Continued use after an update means you accept the revised Terms.
