What is Zentor?
Zentor is a class attendance platform for universities, built in Nigeria by Zensence Technologies Limited. The lecturer projects a QR code that refreshes every few seconds. Students scan it on their own phones, and each scan is checked by device lock, browser fingerprint, location and a face photo, so a student cannot mark attendance for an absent friend.
How does Zentor attendance work?
- Start a session. A lecturer launches a live, device-locked QR that refreshes every few seconds.
- Students scan. Students scan and pass a quick face and location check confirming they are really in class.
- Fraud blocked. Shared devices and proxy scans are flagged instantly, so the register stays honest.
How does Zentor stop proxy attendance?
- Device-locked QR: each code binds to one device and expires in seconds, so screenshots and forwards are useless.
- Proxy detection: browser fingerprinting flags shared-device and repeat scans on the lecturer's Fraud Radar in real time.
- Geofenced check-ins: scans outside the classroom radius are held for lecturer review instead of counting silently.
- Face verification: a photo captured at scan time backs every mark, so disputes are settled with evidence.
Who is Zentor for?
Universities and higher education institutions. It has three portals: lecturers run sessions and see live counts, students scan and track their standing against the 75% threshold, and parents follow their ward's attendance through a read-only portal. Registrars get Excel and CSV exports for exam boards and accreditation.
Does it work without internet or power?
Yes. Lecturers switch to Paper Class, take attendance on paper as usual, then bulk-mark the session afterwards. Those records merge into the same registers, reports and parent alerts as QR sessions.
Do students need to install an app?
No. Zentor runs in the browser as a progressive web app on any phone with a camera.
